BTEC Performing Arts

What qualification will this course lead to?

This is an Edexcel BTEC Level 2 First Award in Performing Arts

What topics will I study?

You will study a number of different areas within the Performing Arts BTEC course: you will study two core mandatory units and an additional unit.

What understanding and skills will I develop?

You will gain an understanding of the Performing Arts industry and what is involved with working within it. You will also develop your acting and creative skills through staging productions and workshops.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a series of coursework assignments, teacher assessment of practical work and a performance assessed by an external examiner. You will be assessed during every unit, through a Pass, Merit and distinction grade. In order to achieve the qualification you must achieve at least a Pass in each of the units.

What can this course lead to?

If you choose to apply to a Sixth Form College then this course will prepare you extremely well for the AS/A-level in Drama and Theatre Studies as well as the BTEC level 3 Diploma's that are also on offer.
